Back in Business

Score of the day: 203

Made another trip to the alley yesterday and finally managed my first good game in ages. I only played 4 games, but managed to hit 5 clean strikes in the last game with no open frames to get a score of 203. Very happy with the score and hopefully I will be able to continue keeping my score up.

Fortunately, the lane condition was pretty decent and it helped me tremendously in predicting my ball's path. My aim was surprisingly good and the ball reaction was excellent. My single pin spares improved as I switched over to my Maxim ball instead of my usual practice of using the Atomic Charge to hit spares as well.

Seems like I would be investing in a decent spare ball soon, as the Maxim is 2lbs lighter than the Atomic Charge and is drilled with a conventional grip. Maybe I could find a good condition used 14lb ball instead of having to buy another. Still considering buying a better reactive ball, but a tight budget is my major speedbump. That Hammer Black Widow is still very tempting, and so is the Storm Dimension. I quite like the Brunswick Maxx Zone, too.

My main criteria now is for me to maintain a high score, and then I would qualify myself for a nice high performance ball. Hopefully I will achieve my goal soon, and I can then review some new equipment to share with you.

Andrew
